This image at Deoksugung Palace in 2018 parallels my 2001 photograph outside Jeukjodang. Jeukjodang is along the left side of the picture while 2-story, unpainted Seogeodang is in the center. This ordinary-looking house is where King Seonjo (1567-1608) lived and died. Unfortunately, these buildings, along with the attached Junmyeongdang, burned down in 1904 and were rebuilt within the same year.
