Looking northwest towards Motonosumi Inari Shrine. Founded in 1955, this shrine had 123 torii gates erected during 1987-1997. It used to be somewhat obscure until CNN Travel named it one of the 31 most beautiful places in Japan, which triggered a continuing stream of visitors. Now it can take over an hour for a parking spot to free up.
