Something must have happened to cause how-to-ride-an-escalator signs to become a thing in 2018. This sign was in the underground passage beneath the tracks and is one of the better ones. Ones done for the private rail lines in Tokyo are worse, using rows of nearly cloned figures that have the densely packed figures lined up like lemmings. The escalator instruction signs are not restricted to train stations; I've even seen them in a mall in Nagano.
