I am always both bemused and confused by the pronouncements in Shinagawa Station regarding "New York Friendly". Does the attitude address people from the New York State or only New York City? Given the use of Grand Central Terminal on some of the other posters, I assume New York City. Does it indicate a lack of hostility? Or is it a warning that they intend to emulate the lack of manners one finds on the New York City transit systems?
